This is a small, small sample of my communications and marketing work.
E-commerce site design, logo and product description:
My slightly cheeky radio ad worked wonders for Plush Consignments. Traffic to the store increased exponentially, overnight. Listen to it here:
Edward Jones Financial Advisors are usually too busy meeting with clients and watching the stock market to think about marketing. I’m working with some local Edward Jones advisors to help them get the word out. Don’t let the formal pics fool you. They’re the most down-to-earth, approachable folks around. This is Durham, after all.

SEO Website Re-Write
This home inspector needed a website overhaul. I re-wrote and re-organized the content for better SEO. The client loved the work and more importantly, his business now comes up on page one of a Google search.
E-Book: A Quick Style Guide For Good Writing
One of my favourite projects ever: 17 pages of straight-forward business writing basics (click on the image to view). Produced for Industry Canada.
14 Million Sets of Eyeballs Can’t be Wrong
“Content Marketing” is a 2018 marketing buzzword. I was doing it in 2008. My series of short articles for the Canada-Ontario Business Service Centre was disseminated by NewsCanada, a PR wire service. The series was a real hit with editors all over Canada, generating a spectacular 14 million+ impressions in French and English in the first month of publication. More importantly, it boosted the COBSC’s website hits by almost 30 percent.

Need a newsletter?
I can whip you up a fabulous newsletter, like this one, using MS Publisher or Quark XPress for Windows. This is a sample of a newsletter I made up for a client (some pictures and names have been changed for privacy).
geekspeak product descriptions
This year I’ve been working for geekspeak writing SEO product descriptions. It’s not glamorous and there are no prizes for writing about buckets and horse feed, but geekspeak assignments are some of my favourites. The tight word count mixed with the challenge of being compelling and accurate is a great exercise for any writer.
